Announcing Rex AI® Reporting Agents: Reports Built From the Incident Record

BreachRx Blog | Announcing Rex AI® Reporting Agents: Reports Built From the Incident Record

During an incident, stakeholders are always looking for updates. The executive team wants status and impact, the legal team wants a defensible summary, the board wants a one-pager. The list of deliverables grows all while the responding teams are still heads down working the actual incident itself. While this isn’t news to anyone, writing and re-writing reports takes time away from the critical response work that needs to happen, and happen fast.

To provide these reports, some teams manually create templates, which takes time away from their core responsibilities. “But we have AI for that now” is only a partial solution; AI is excellent at creating reports given the proper data, but often requires extensive oversight to get things right. To minimize manual effort and maximize accuracy, AI needs to both have full incident details and understand your response workflows.

BreachRx AI Incident Reporting Agents

Building on the Rex Platform’s existing reporting capabilities, we’ve added two new agents to help teams streamline their reporting workflows: Report Template Agent and Reporting Agent.

Customers are already telling us this saves time and, more importantly, our reporting agents build these reports directly from the incident record itself, with or without an existing template, so you can get the report you need when you need it.

The Rex AI Maestro Report Template Agent helps you build and manage report templates before an incident occurs, whether from exercises, training, or general preparedness. The Rex AI Maestro Reporting Agent helps you build, edit, and manage incident reports, whether built from a template or uniquely for your incident-specific needs, prior to publishing. Once used, the two agents work together to help you draft and revise the actual reports themselves and the templates during and after an incident.

Grounded in the Record, Tailored to the Audience

Getting the details correct is critical, which is one of the reasons many are dubious or distrustful of generative AI. Grounding AI-generated reporting in complete data directly from trusted data sources ensures that the information you’re sharing is factual and up to date.

Using our new reporting agents, you’re pulling data from the incident record itself: the timeline, actions, and decisions that you’re already recording in the Rex Platform. No assumptions are made with gaps in the data, nor misinterpreted or hallucinated data. It’s the official record, tailored with the relevant detail for the audience you’re writing for.

From one incident, the reporting agents can help you generate a detailed technical report, a concise executive update, and other audience-specific views or outputs with a single command. All of this without someone on the team hand-writing or filling in multiple versions of the same story. What used to take hours per incident, with a little preparation, can be reduced to minutes.

Agentic and Governed

To make sure that humans remain in control of the messaging that goes out to stakeholders and to avoid AI-related inaccuracies, the reporting agents do not take any actions without approval. Any changes made are presented for review and can be edited live before a report or template is published in the Rex Platform.

To streamline things even further, Maestro can be used in both the report template and incident report views. Now you can use natural language to modify templates and reports with Maestro’s agents—or make edits directly in the same view. Everything you need to see is in one place.

Ready Before it Happens: Templates

Report templates were already available in the Rex Platform for this reason. It’s a powerful system, one that having a deep understanding of the data being reported on and the variables and functions available in the template editor helps immensely.

The Report Template Agent takes that onus off of the user even further and provides a natural language interface to template development, reducing the required platform-specific knowledge and the time it takes to create the templates themselves. Users can import examples that the agent can build off of, using the data within the system of record. Example reports can immediately be generated from incidents or exercises to make sure that you know you’re prepared with the right information for the right stakeholders before the incident happens.

Reporting That Keeps Up With the Incident

Incident reporting shouldn’t become another workstream competing with the response itself. With the new BreachRx Reporting Agents, teams can turn the incident record they’re already building into accurate, audience-specific reports—without starting from scratch every time.

The result is faster reporting, less manual effort, and a more consistent, defensible understanding across executives, legal teams, boards, and other stakeholders.
