From Chaos to Control: Why We Raised Our Series A

How BreachRx’s Series A fuels our mission to transform incident response management from reactive chaos to confident operational control.

BreachRx Blog | From Chaos to Control: Why We Raised Our Series A

Nearly every cybersecurity leader knows that feeling: the cold sweat, 2 a.m. kind of moment, wondering if the next alert is the one that changes everything. It’s a familiar anxiety in our field, and it’s why we’re so often asked, “What keeps you up at night?”

But after years in this business, I’ve realized that’s the wrong question. Security teams instead should be asking: what helps you sleep at night? For the leaders we work with, the answer is clear: knowing they have a systematic, proactive, controlled approach to incident response.

That belief is at the core of why we built BreachRx, and it’s what’s fueling our next chapter.

Today, we’re proud to share that BreachRx has raised a Series A round of funding led by Ballistic Ventures, with participation from SYN Ventures, Overline, and Silver Buckshot Ventures, to accelerate our mission of transforming cybersecurity incident response management from reactive chaos to confident operational control. This milestone is about more than capital. It’s about codifying a new standard for how the industry prepares for, manages, and learns from cyber events.

Incident Response is Broken. We’re Here to Fix It.

If there’s one message we’ve heard time and again, it’s this: the status quo for incident response is chaos.

While thousands of security vendors compete to prevent attacks, the reality is that breaches still happen. When they do, most teams are left scrambling, still relying on static documents, inconsistent playbooks, and ad-hoc decisions made under pressure. It’s a reactive, disjointed process that is most often too little, too late.

This approach must change. BreachRx exists to bring structure, control, and repeatability to the moments that matter most, because how you respond is just as important as how you defend.

Command and Control for the Defenders

There’s a striking paradox in cybersecurity today. Threat actors operate with clear command and control structures. They’re coordinated, methodical, and increasingly sophisticated. Meanwhile, most security teams are still improvising their response. Put simply, the battlefield is tilted. Why should attackers have more operational discipline than defenders?

At BreachRx, we believe every organization deserves its own command and control center for incident response. Our solution—the industry’s first intelligent cybersecurity incident response management platform—equips security teams with the tools they need to respond with transparency, speed and precision.

We’re turning IR from a linear, manual slog into a streamlined, automated process that operates with machine precision. One customer put it best: “We used to have a paper policy. Now our IR records are audited like financial records and BreachRx is the only solution on the market that meets that standard.”

That’s the shift—from chaos to control.

Scaling with Purpose

Since founding BreachRx, we’re dedicated to building and scaling a platform now trusted by some of the world’s largest enterprises.

With this new funding, we’re doubling down. New hires across engineering, sales, and marketing will help meet surging demand and bring BreachRx to more organizations that need it. We’re already seeing a groundswell of inbound interest from Fortune 500 CISOs who tell us they’ve been looking for something like this for years. They’re tired of playing defense with a broken approach. Now we have the backing to arm them with what they need.

We’re also expanding our ability to support customers as they navigate the evolving regulatory landscape. The patchwork of federal and state requirements isn’t just growing—it’s shifting constantly. Whether or not federal regulators are active, state-level activity is heating up. Security teams need a way to stay ahead, and BreachRx helps future-proof your program in the face of change.

Adding World-Class Expertise

This moment is also about the people who will help guide us forward. As part of today’s announcement, we’re thrilled to welcome Kevin Mandia and Nicole Perlroth as advisors. Kevin is the newest member of our Board of Directors, and Nicole will join as Board Observer.

Kevin is, without exaggeration, the gold standard in incident response. He established Mandiant as the first company Fortune 500 CISOs call when they’ve been breached. He’s lived the fight—both on the ground and in the boardroom—and he’ll help us continue to solidify BreachRx as the best-in-class solution for modern incident response programs.

Nicole brings a deep understanding of the human and communications side of IR. From reporting on the cybersecurity frontlines for The New York Times and as a best-selling author, she’s spent her career talking to CISOs, boards, and security teams during their most high-stakes moments. Communications isn’t an afterthought in a breach—it’s a critical leg of the stool that is how companies are judged. Nicole’s insights will be instrumental as we help companies navigate not just technical response, but the messaging and transparency that define reputational resilience.

Looking Ahead

We’re building BreachRx for the long haul. This isn’t a niche tool or a point solution—it’s the backbone of a next-generation incident response program. Whether you’re a Fortune 500 enterprise or a fast-growing mid-market organization, your IR strategy should be as mature, scalable, and resilient as your defense.

And we’re just getting started. We thank our customers for trusting us to help them transform their approach, as well as pushing us to constantly innovate. We also thank our newest investors and board members for joining our mission, as well as current investors at SYN Ventures and Overline for continuing on our journey. Finally, we thank our team for their passion, dedication, and hard work.

This raise reflects our incredible team, our visionary customers, and our belief that incident response can—and must—be better. We’re proud of what we’ve built, but even more excited for what comes next. Get ready—we’ve got big things coming.
